Pour ce premier EP, j’avais vraiment à cœur de rendre hommage à la musique des collines du Nord du Mississippi, pour laquelle j’ai une tendresse particulière…
L’hypnotique Hill Country Blues de R.L. Burnside, l’envoutant Cotton-Patch Blues de Junior Kimbrough, ainsi que le traditionnel fife and drum style de Otha Turner, demeurent pour moi des influences plus que majeures …

Enregistré live à la maison en duo avec l’ami Lilian à la batterie, ce disque est entièrement dédié à ces trois principaux “piliers” de la musique de cette région.

Et, cerise sur le gâteau, Sharde “fifemastor” Thomas, petite fille de Otha Turner, nous à fait l’IMMENSE honneur de participer à la flute sur un des titres, rendant un vibrant hommage dans la pure tradition familiale qu’elle perpétue avec tendresse et brio !... Un IMMENSE merci à elle !!!...

With this 1st EP, I wanted to pay tribute to the music of the North Mississippi Hill Country, for which I have a very special tenderness…
The hypnotic Hill Country Blues of R.L. Burnside, the bewitching Cotton-Patch Blues of Junior Kimbrough, or the traditional fife and drum style of Otha Turner remain major influences for me…

Recorded live at home as a two-piece band with my bro Lilian, this album is entirely dedicated to these three "patrons“ of the music of this area.

And, icing on the cake, Sharde "fifemastor" Thomas, granddaughter of Otha Turner, did us the honor of adding fife on one of the tracks, paying a vibrant tribute in the pure family tradition that she brilliantly perpetuates !... A HUGE thanks to her !!! ...
